  1. Psilocybin Mushrooms (Magic Mushrooms):

  3. LSD (Lysergic Acid Diethylamide):
    • Effects: Although synthetic, LSD can produce significant spiritual experiences characterized by profound euphoria, a sense of transcendence, and altered perception of time and space. It is less “earthy” and can be more intense and longer-lasting than mushrooms.

  5. Mescaline:
    • Sources: Peyote or San Pedro cactus.
    • Effects: Mescaline offers a long-lasting experience filled with bright, colorful visuals and a profound sense of oneness with nature and the universe. It’s traditionally used in Native American spiritual rituals for its therapeutic and spiritual benefits.

“Spiritual growth is about reaching out to and connecting with your inner soul and is a method of becoming more harmonious with life around us, develops our own feelings of inner power and strength and leads us to live happier lives and to take more responsibility for our own actions.”.. What is Meant by ‘Spiritual Growth’?

Choosing the Right Strain:

When selecting a psychedelic for spiritual purposes, consider the following:

  • Set and Setting: Your mindset and the environment in which you partake in these substances will significantly influence your experience.
  • Guidance: Especially for beginners or those using powerful substances like ayahuasca or DMT, having a knowledgeable guide such as a shaman or a facilitator experienced in psychedelic therapy can help navigate the experience.
  • Intentions: Clearly define what you are hoping to achieve or explore during your experience.
  • Legal Status: Be aware of the legal status of these substances in your jurisdiction to avoid legal troubles.

Conclusion

Like any other kind of growth, spiritual growth is the process of enhancing and developing particular traits, competencies, and capacities.

The ability to see clearly, to be attentive and pay attention, to be present with what one sees—no matter how unpleasant or frightening—and to accept what one finds undesirable are all strengthened through spiritual growth.

A person’s knowledge of themselves and the world around them grows, deepens, and sharpens when they engage in spiritual practice.

Hallucinations brought on by chemicals don’t assist with any of that.

Caution:

Always approach psychedelic experiences with respect and caution. These substances are powerful and can elicit strong emotional and psychological reactions. Adequate preparation, research, and, in some cases, medical or therapeutic guidance are recommended to ensure a safe and beneficial experience.

By considering these factors and choosing a strain or substance that aligns with your spiritual goals, you can set the stage for a meaningful and transformative journey.

  1. Robert J. Post says:

This is how I see things.

Ram Dass, the spiritual teacher, made an effort. He experimented with every type of psychedelic known to science for years, ranging from microdosing to heroic dosage. repeatedly. He did not become enlightened as a result. He can become aware of different realities and viewpoints with the aid of psychedelics, but it is not enlightenment.

It may be possible for people to recover from trauma and PTSD with the use of psychedelics. They could be able to assist individuals in controlling their emotions. Certain types of mental healing may be possible with the appropriate application of psychedelics. Though illuminating, those things do not constitute enlightenment.

Achieving enlightenment isn’t a goal. You already possess enlightenment. Furthermore, there are no medicines, spiritual practices, or other methods that can change who you are or who you have always been. Attempting to reach enlightenment by any means is akin to thinking that one must take action before being able to cast a shadow in the sun when outdoors.

That is dependent on how ready each person is to grow along those vectors. Psychedelics completely transformed my life! Alternatively, and as an illustration of the complete opposite, I know a money-loving, rude, and insensitive personal injury lawyer who declared, “It was just a drug,” about LSD.

In my instance, I switched from being a scientific materialist who started college as a pre-med student to becoming a philosophy major, much to my parents’ dismay and horror, following an existential crisis and many LSD trips. As if that weren’t radical enough, this young, Reformed Jewish man who wasn’t practicing or Bar Mitzvah-ed also underwent Catholic baptism, went to a seminary run by the United Methodists, declined to become a monk, and then went on to get a PhD in developmental and clinical psychology.

For me, many years of exploration (including visiting ashrams, zendos, and monasteries), and 3 academic degrees were fueled by The Psychedelic Experience. I wrote a doctoral dissertation using a Tibetan Buddhist model of psychic centers to order a metatheoretical hierarchy of Western psychological theorists of motivation, and I continue to adhere to practices like ethical vegetarianism, contemplation, and mindfulness. I maintain a philosophical demeanor which eschews vice and embraces virtue. My career has been a secular ministry in which I could practice compassion.

I took a couple of trips on Heavenly Blue Morning Glory seeds as soon as I finished high school in 1971, but it was my first LSD trip in July of 1972 that really Initiated me into domains that most people cannot even imagine. But like the parable of the sower found in the three Synoptic Gospels, this applies equally to those who have had The Psychedelic Experience.

  3. Robert Rapplean says:

Being capacity to connect with others and view the world objectively is one of the fundamental components of spirituality. Psychedelics alter our perception of reality by imitating mental parallax vision. This enables us to acknowledge the truth of other people’s perspectives and break free from our own.

  4. Mathew Roy says:

Using any psychedelic drug does not ensure spiritual enlightenment for anyone. However, if the conditions are appropriate, it offers us the opportunity to view ourselves from a fresh angle.

I realize that everything in our environment is a tool that may be abused. Anything at all, like a fork, knife, camera, psychedelics, sweets, etc. We may be able to reap the benefits of the instruments when we utilize them as intended, but I can also poke your eyes with a fork.
